Ian Wright singles out Arsenal stars' 'lack of concentration' before brilliant Brentford recovery
Ian Wright has criticised David Raya for losing focus during Arsenal's 3-1 win at Brentford on Wednesday night.
The hosts scored the opening goal inside 13 minutes through Bryan Mbeumo who fired past Raya following a through-ball from Mikkel Damsgaard. Despite falling behind, goals from Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Merino, and Gabriel Martinelli closed the gap on leaders Liverpool.
However, the outcome could have been different if Raya hadn't quickly recovered from an error. An effort from Keane Lewis-Potter slipped through Raya’s fingers and bounced towards goal.

The Spaniard cleared the ball off the line to prevent Brentford from doubling their lead before Jesus went on to net the equaliser. "It’s a lack of concentration from David Raya," Wright told Premier League Productions about the incident.
"He does brilliantly to recover. You can see the desperation from him. You can see how close it was. That would have been disastrous, especially with the way Arsenal were dominating.’
Wright also praised Ethan Nwaneri after he was handed his first Premier League start. "What we’ve seen from him is his technical ability and great pace," the Gunners icon added.
"Plus one of the most difficult things to do, something I probably wouldn’t have been able to do, which is take corners. I remember once I said to Arsene Wenger if I could take corners. He said no, because to put it into an area where so much is riding [on it]… it’s such a difficult skill.
"When you’ve got players, especially away from home, who can put the ball in an area – that’s perfect. I couldn’t do that."
Arsenal are currently six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand to Everton. Mikel Arteta's side are also two points clear from third placed Nottingham Forest who leapfrogged Chelsea after their shock defeat at Ipswich Town.
