Ibrahim Cissoko joins Sheffield Wednesday after Plymouth Argyle loan ended
Ibrahim Cissoko has become the sixth player to leave Plymouth Argyle during the winter transfer window after his season-long loan was ended early.
French Ligue 1 side Toulouse exercised an option to recall the Dutch under-21 international and then immediately loaned him to Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls announced Cissoko's signing shortly after 1.30pm on Saturday, while Argyle were playing their Championship game against West Bromwich Albion at Home Park and before the club had officially announced his departure.
Head coach Miron Muslic said after the match: "Cissoko wanted to leave. I never had a problem with him. He was always open and straight in his communication. I only want players who really want to be here to face this challenge."

Cissoko follows Adam Forshaw (Blackburn Rovers), Lewis Gibson (Preston North End), Andre Gray (Faith Karagumruk in Turkey), Marko Marosi and Morgan Whittaker (Middlesbrough) in moving on from Argyle during the transfer window.
The 21-year-old winger made his debut for the Pilgrims in the season-opening 4-0 defeat away to Wednesday at Hillsborough in August. Cissoko put in some impressive performances early in the campaign but suffered a hamstring injury in October which kept him out until he came off the bench in the 2-2 New Year's Day draw at home to Bristol City.
After the appointment of Muslic, Cissoko made just two brief substitute appearances and it became obvious his future was going to be away from Home Park.
Cissoko told Wednesday's official club website: “I am very happy and excited to start. This is a fantastic place. Hillsborough is a great stadium – I was here for the first game of the season and the atmosphere was great, which is important for me.
"I never heard so much noise in a stadium in my life, it was something special. I have played in some special stadiums and I never heard this kind of noise . . . my eardrums!
"I hope this will be exciting for the fans. The way they play attacking football, the style of the coach, this will suit my game. I play down the left and also the right, I like to take my man on, create assists and score goals. I have played in three leagues now and I really like the Championship so I look forward to the next weeks and months."
Cissoko is set to return to Home Park when Danny Rohl's Owls play Argyle on Saturday, March 8.
