I'd start Darwin Nunez at Goodison Park - Liverpool can't do one thing in Everton's cup final

Everton won’t be easy. It’s never easy. Bournemouth went there and won at the weekend and we’re a better side than Bournemouth - we proved that by going there and winning.

Everton tried their damnedest to beat them but couldn’t. We’ve got more quality than Bournemouth but it’s a different game, a different day and a different beast you’re playing. It’s Everton’s cup final. It’s so big for them. That’s what they live for and the boys can’t be intimidated.

Everton is going to be exactly the same as what Plymouth did on Sunday, but with better players. They’ll hit it long and look to pounce on mistakes and do us on the counter.

But we’ll have better players on the pitch to counteract those threats too. What we have to do against Everton is at least draw our individual battles. Whoever is marking you, you’ve got to out-battle him. You do not want to get bullied.

The crowd will be up for it big-time. It’s probably the last game Everton have got to celebrate this season. They’re going to stay up so every game is going to be a nothing game, with its only real importance being so David Moyes can build a team.

Yes, they’ll have the last game at Goodison too. But this is the last derby at Goodison. This is the game. They’ll come to Anfield too, obviously, but this is the last one at Goodison.

They’ll know that and be up for it, but our players know it too. They can’t be scared or intimidated by the crowd or the players they’re playing against. They’ve got to win the first balls and second balls.

If they match Everton for spirit and for fight, then we’re a better side. We know that and have to match them for everything on the pitch.

They can’t leave anything on the pitch, give everything you have, fight and scrap for everything. If you want to win the game, you have to try and win every challenge and see where it leads us.

No slow starts and no excuses

FA Cup shocks do happen but the team Arne put out against Plymouth should have done better.

The only thing is he’s kept players back and given them the weekend off. Them players who have had a rest and have got to show it on Wednesday and right from the kick-off.

They have to show that the break has done them good. From the kick-off, not after 10 minutes, not after 30 minutes or only in the second half. From the very first whistle at Goodison Park they have to be up for it.

They will be fresh so there are no excuses. Fresh, ready to go and ready to fight. And that’s what they have to do, they have to fight. They have to fight Everton and use their skill.

We’re the better team with better players. I’ve been there so many times and know what it’s like. There can be no excuses. They’re fresh as daises so don’t start the game slowly.

They can’t afford to start slowly. They’re fresh so go and show it, go and show why Arne was right to rest you.

I’d start Darwin upfront

The manager knows best. He’ll already know who he wants to start upfront against Everton. Whatever he says, you go with.

Obviously it will be Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and one other. You look at the way Everton play, will it be the directness of Nunez, will it be the trickery and pace of Diaz, or the goalscoring prowess of Jota?

I don’t think he’ll start Jota because he’s only just come back from injury, so I think it’s between Diaz and Nunez.

If it was down to me, I’d pick Nunez. I’ve got a feeling he might pick Nunez. It might just suit him, the way the game might pan out.

Especially with his fighting ability, he can be a spearhead who puts himself about and make a real difference in what will be a difficult game.
