Igamane to Everton 'could be agreed', Dessers sales pitch and Jefte exit timeline floated – Rangers transfer bulletin
A former Everton insider reckons the club could make a move for Rangers striker Hamza Igamane before the end of the January window.
The Moroccan has emerged as the first-choice frontman at Ibrox this season after netting 13 goals for Philippe Clement's side following his summer arrival from AS FAR. Reports south of the border have suggested Everton, West Ham, Newcastle United, Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham have shown an interest in the prospect who arrived for £1.7million last summer.
And after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was injured in the 1-0 Premier League win over Brighton at the AMEX Stadium last weekend, former Goodison Park scout Bryan King reckons David Moyes could be forced into the market before the end of the month with Igamane on the agenda. Speaking to Goodison News, he said: “If they have got the money, a deal could be agreed.
"I don’t think Igamane would be cheap. However, now that Calvert-Lewin is injured, I imagine that Everton will be looking to get that deal across the line."
Cyriel Dessers has insisted he has "unfinished business" at Ibrox and is no rush to leave with Corrie dello Sport reporting Cagliari have made the striker their top target. The 30-year-old has netted six goals in his last four games - and Michael Stewart reckons it is now the perfect time for the Light Blues to sell.
He told the Scottish Football Social Club: “Cyriel Dessers, if I was Rangers, I’d be over the moon with what’s happened in the last couple of games and just hoping, making it easier to facilitate a move out. He’s scored two great goals. His numbers are not bad. Let’s be honest, he’s not good enough. Colak for me was a better all-round striker than Dessers.
"Get Dessers out of the door because he’ll be on a big pack of money, you might be able to recoup some money but I’d be looking at those last two games and going ‘Brilliant’. Don’t be fooled into thinking there might be a player in there. We’ve seen enough.”
Another outgoing could be Jefte - after his agent named Chelsea among a number of clubs to express an interest. While Record Sport understands that so far there has been no direct contact from the Premier League giants, Barry Ferguson reckons the left-back should be in no rush to leave.
Rangers hero Ferguson told Go Radio: "Listen, he has had a good start to his Rangers career but I think there is still a lot of improvement needed. I think going forward I have been really impressed by him, and defensively he has to work at it.
"But he is young. This is his first real season as a seasoned pro. The early signs are Rangers have got a good player on their hands, but time will tell. He has to make a few improvements, and if he does that I think interest will start to come."
