Ignore Alejandro Garnacho transfer - more wingers is the last thing Chelsea need
Jeff Stelling believes signing Alejandro Garnacho is the "last thing" Chelsea need amid interest from the Blues in the Manchester United winger.
Chelsea hold a firm interest in the 20-year-old wide man, football.london understands, with the Blues exploring their options regarding a left winger. Mykhailo Mudryk is provisionally suspended from football after failing a drugs test in December, with the Ukrainian's future at Stamford Bridge far from certain.
The west Londoners hold an interest in Garnacho, but are also considering moves for Jamie Gittens and Mathys Tel from the Bundesliga. Garnacho's agents were spotted at Stamford Bridge on Monday night to see Chelsea beat Wolves in the Premier League.

The Argentine's representatives being in attendance in SW6 only heightened talk of a possible move during the ongoing January transfer window but it is understood there has been no decision from Chelsea yet on whether they will make a definitive offer to Man United. The Red Devils are said to be willing to let Garnacho leave the club as they look to comply with the Premier League's strict Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Chelsea do have an abundance of wide players to choose from, with Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto being the Blues' out-and-out wingers. Meanwhile, the likes of Cole Palmer, Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku can all be used on the flanks but are seen more as central players; players that can occupy the No.10 role.
Enzo Maresca sees Madueke and Neto as his main options for the right wing spot, although the latter has often been used on the left as well, while Sancho and Mudryk - prior to his suspension - were the candidates on the left-hand side. Stelling cannot quite fathom Chelsea looking to make a move for Garnacho given the options Maresca already has at his disposal.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Stelling said: "There have been reports from Fabrizio Romano regarding Alejandro Garnacho maybe going to Chelsea. With Neto, Madueke and Sancho, surely Garnacho is the last thing they need."
Garnacho has been a bit-part player under Ruben Amorim since the Portuguese was appointed as Erik ten Hag's successor at Man United. Since Amorim was given the job at Old Trafford, United have played 11 Premier League matches but the Argentina international has only started four of those. Despite this, Amorim, speaking about Garnacho last week, insisted the winger does have a future in Manchester.
"That is clear [Garnacho has a future], he has talent," Amorim said on January 15. "He needs to learn to play a little bit in a different position. He needs to play better inside.
"He improved a lot in the recovering position, when he doesn't have the ball, but, doing that, sometimes he's not in the right place to make transitions, like he was in the past, because I prefer to defend and then build up with all the team to make the final third.
"So he's finding the best way to play in this system. He's improving, during training."
