Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon has given his say on who is toughest to play against between fellow countrymen Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kyle Walker and Ben White.

Speaking on Sky Sports' 'The Sticker Book', he was given the choice of who he would say is the toughest right-back he has played against. The winger had the choice of Liverpool's Alexander-Arnold, Manchester City's Walker, Arsenal's White and PSG's Achraf Hakimi.

The 23-year-old explained why he thought Alexander-Arnold and Walker were tough opponents to come up agains. Gordon also said why White might have the edge.

“Kyle Walker, obvious reasons, so fast, so strong," Gordon said. "Trent, completely different, not so much a runner, a passer, the approach is different, you need to get tight to stop him playing the passes he does.

“Ben White is a mixture of both, he mixes up getting forward and defending. Arsenal are a really tough team, so he’s hard to play against as well.”

Despite this, Gordon picked Hakimi as the toughest out of all four defenders. The Newcastle wide man did explain why he felt better coming up against the 'bigger teams'.

"I love playing [against] all of these because it just brings out the best of me," he added. "I think statistically my best games always come against the bigger teams and that's because I think I embrace the challenge."

Also in the book, Gordon had to choose his icon, his coaching influence, his goal and what ability he would take from a teammate. He chose Mohammed Salah, Eddie Howe, winning a trophy with Newcastle and Joelinton's strength respectively.
