I'm a striker who's had 10 clubs and 'no hope in life' but now I'm coming to St James' Park
Levi Amantchi could not believe it when his Bromley side drew Newcastle United in the FA Cup as the Magpies fan prepares to face his boyhood club.
Amantchi started out at Wallsend Boys club as a youngster and went on to have trials at Newcastle and Sunderland before joining Chesterfield in 2018. So began a journey that took Amantchi to Workington (twice), Darlington, Blyth Spartans, Redditch United, Potters Bar Town, Braintree Town, Brackley Town, Maidstone United and, finally, Bromley.
It has certainly been a grind to get to this point. Amantchi previously wrote about how he could not find a club just a few years ago, which left the London-born striker 'mentally down with no hope in life', and led to him getting an office job.

However, Amantchi, to his credit, never gave up on his dream and the 24-year-old could now get the chance to feature in Bromley's first ever FA Cup third-round tie after landing his dream draw at St James' Park.
"I was in the car with my boy and he was telling me that the draw was on live now," Amantchi recalled to ITV. "It came to Newcastle and I was like, 'Surely not? No way!' You can't make it up."
Newcastle will already know all about Amantchi and how the striker scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in Bromley's first-round victory at Rochdale back in November. Eddie Howe stressed 'a lot of work goes in to make sure' Newcastle 'find about all the individual players' so that the Magpies are as prepared as they would be for a Premier League fixture.
