'We will have to go with what we have' - Injury stricken Terras take on Rebels
WEYMOUTH are back in National League South action as they travel to Worthing this weekend.
Warren Feeney's side will be looking to turn Tuesday night's cup success into three points on Saturday as they face another tough opponent in their fight for survival.
The Northern Irishman recorded his first win as the Terras Boss with the 3-1 win over Sturminster Newton but it is now time to 'turn performances into points' as they try and lift themselves off the bottom of the table.
It will be easier said than do though with an in form Worthing likely to be difficult to break down Sussex Transport Community Stadium.
The Rebels are unbeaten in their last seven games, including a dominant 5-1 over fellow National League South high-flyers Torquay in the FA Vase in their last game on January 4.
Since then, the club have not played meaning their players will be well rested.
In contrast, the Terras have not won since the historic 2-1 win over Yeovil in the FA Trophy third round on December 10 and last recorded a league win in November, a 1-0 win over fellow relegation threatened Aveley - a run of 11 league games.
Speaking about Worthing and the game, Feeney said: "Since Adam HInshelwood left, they have just carried on.
"They are very good and are very strong at home and play good football with good players so it will be a good game for us.
"We go into every game wanting to win.
"We have been competitive and now we have got two big games against big teams in the league."
Feeney said the midweek cup game had provided some players with minutes and those that did not play had 'trained well' over the week.
With injuries pilling up, Feeney said 'we will have to go with what we have' but is still hopeful to have a few new signings through the door.
"There is a couple and one almost over the line, but we have to be patient with the other clubs.
"We have to keep going and make sure we do get a couple in."
When asked about the players injuries, the former AFC Bournemouth striker confirmed that Josh McQuoid (hamstring), Andy Robinson (calf) and Charlie Rowan will all miss the game through injury.
However, club captain Tom Bearwish, who has yet to play under Feeney, is now 'in contention' to face Worthing this weekend.
Another player making his way back from injury is Jordan Maguire-Drew.
On Maguire-Drew, Feeney added: "We didn't want to rush Jordan back. He got a few minutes last weekend and we will have to ease him in, although not too easy as needs must.
"He has good quality and is a good player so its great to have him back."
Feeney also revealed that his demand for players to run may have had a knock on effect to the amount of muscle injuries players are picking up.
He added: "As one comes back one goes back, but I love my players to run. That might be why we have picked up some calf and hamstring injuries.
"It might have been a bit of a shock to the players but the physios will be working 24/7 to get them back."
