Inside track on Blackpool star Kyle Joseph with Hull City set to complete £2.5m transfer
Hull City are on the verge of confirming Kyle Joseph as their latest signing in the January transfer window after striking a £2.5m deal with Blackpool for the 23-year-old seven-goal forward.
It is understood Joseph will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract at the MKM Stadium after the League One club reluctantly sanctioned his departure.
Seasiders boss Steve Bruce, City's legendary former manager, raved about Joseph's ability and attitude. So to find out more about the Scotland Under-21 international, the 1904 Club podcast spoke to Blackpool reporter at the Gazette, Amos Wynn, to get the full lowdown on the Tigers' newest frontman.

"This season, he's been one of Blackpool's best players. He's energetic in getting forward, and he's the runner of the team, basically," Wynn told the 1904 Club podcast. "He works hard, and Steve Bruce has got the best out of him, especially at Blackpool. Last season didn't go to plan; it didn't quite click for him through injuries and selection, but this year, he's been fantastic in terms of his work rate and energy.
"Goals, I don't know how many goals he'll get in the Championship. He's only got seven this season, he has missed a number of chances, though in terms of everything else, his attacking play, he's been superb under Steve Bruce, and there's a reason why the manager loves him.
"He's more of a centre-forward player. He would work well with someone who is a more natural poacher, more or less. He's someone who will run into the areas and stretch defences rather than be in the right position at the right time to score goals.
"Saying that, in his last game for Blackpool, he did a pop-up with a goal in stoppage time (to draw 1-1 at Wycombe), so he can find the back of the net as well, but his more natural game is stretching the defence and running in behind.
"I think there is a lot of room for development there, and it might just be a long-term project for the club. The first six months might be a bedding-in period for him to get used to life at Hull and life in the Championship and hopefully, for you, you'l still be there next year and he'll have learnt from that and he can carry on.
"We have seen improvements this year at Blackpool, and he was very highly thought of when he was at Wigan as a youngster, so there's clearly a very good player in there, and there's no reason why he can't improve those goals and assists."
