Ipswich Town transfer rumour: Blues could reignite Philogene interest
Ipswich Town could reignite their interest in winger Jaden Philogene during the January transfer window, reports Sky Sports News.
The Blues were close to signing the 22-year-old from Hull City back in July as part of a £35m double deal involving centre-back Jacob Greaves.
In the end it was just Greaves who arrived at Portman Road. That's because, after a long-running saga, Philogene ended up returning to Aston Villa after his former employers activated a 'matching rights' clause included as part of his £5m departure the previous summer.
Philogene has made just two Premier League starts for Villa in the first half of the season, plus a further nine appearances off the bench.
McKenna is keen to bolster his attacking depth following a season-ending injury for winger Chiedozie Ogbene and significant set-back for striker George Hirst.
