ITV forced to apologise after X-rated Liverpool statement and Plymouth Argyle FA Cup shock
ITV presenter Mark Pougatch was forced to apologise for the language of Plymouth Argyle defender Nikola Katic after he swore audibly twice on live TV. Speaking after playing a big role in the competition's biggest shock of the round, he could not keep his excitement in.
The centre-back had excelled at the back for Miron Muslic's side, commanding his area on the way to a 1-0 win at Home Park. Ryan Hardie's second-half penalty was enough to leave Arne Slot heading out of the cup.
He punished a mistake by Harvey Elliott, who gave away the spot-kick through a handball inside the Liverpool area. Despite pushing for an equaliser, Conor Hazard in the Plymouth goal was able to keep out the best of Liverpool's attempts.

Katic, caught up in the jubilation, said afterwards: "I f****** love it. I f****** love it. I realised that when I arrived. Everyone gave 100%. I hated Hazard when I got here because he’s a Celtic guy and I’m a massive Rangers guy, but he gave us this win today."
Although there was no initial statement made by ITV or the interviewer on air, Pougatch took the first chance when back on screen as the programme presenter to offer his apologies to viewers. Attention now turns to Wednesday night and the last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park for Liverpool.
They will need to shrug off the disappointment of heading out of the FA Cup to the Championship's last-placed side. Argyle had only won one of their previous 17 matches in all competitions.
Liverpool entered in good form but will be aiming to respond with a full-strength team. The lead at the top of the Premier League table could be extended to nine points in midweek.
With a place in the Carabao Cup already secured, Liverpool still have the Champions League to look forward to. They could yet end the season with three major trophies.
