Jack Butland out of Celtic showdown as Rangers goalkeeper rushed to hospital with 'internal bleeding'
Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland will miss the clash with Celtic after being taken to hospital on Hogmanay.
Under-fire Philippe Clement is facing a mouting injury list as he prepares to face off against the Scottish Premiership and attempts to claw back the 14 point lead that Brendan Rodgers side hold over his men. Captain James Tavernier is already out while centre-back Leon Balogun is touch-and-go for the Ibrox blockbuster after limping off against Motherwell on Sunday.
The Rangers No. 1 now looks set to miss out on the top of the table clash. The Rangers Review report that he was admitted with "significant internal bleed". The 31-year-old spent the night under medical care before being released on New Year's Day but will not be ready to take his place between the sticks against Celtic with Liam Kelly set to deputise.
Clement already knows he will be without two defenders going into the game. John Souttar is out while Neraysho Kasanwirjo is facing a long-term absence.
