Jack Draper's dating admission as he makes feelings clear on Emma Raducanu relationship
Jack Draper has issued an update on his relationship status as he takes to the court again at the Australian Open.
After surviving a huge first round scare against Mariano Navone, the British No.1 is back in action on Wednesday as he faces Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis. The 23-year-old has never made it past the second round at the tournament, but came into this year's competition off the back of a run to the semi-final at the US Open.
That run saw him become the first British man to reach the semi-final stage at Flushing Meadows since Andy Murray back in 2012, with the Scot going on to win the title that year. Now, Draper has made his feelings clear on Murray, family and relationships in a wide-ranging interview with The Times, giving some rare insights into his private life.

One of the areas explored is Draper's second job as a model, having been signed to renowned agency IMG since he was 18. He has since modelled for fashion giants Vogue and Tatler, while he was in the front row at London Fashion week in September, alongside legendary Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
However, the tennis ace admitted that, aside from a few "really cool" projects, he doesn't always enjoy being in front of the camera, explaining: "All this model stuff, I like doing it at the time, but I’m not a massive fan of it in all honesty.
“I did some stuff I wasn’t actually comfortable with at the time,” he added as he recalled posing shirtless in an early shoot. “They’re great photos, don’t get me wrong, but if I was to go back in time I should have been more educated.”
Draper also added that he was not concerned about model looks when it comes to romantic partners, having also admitted he was not a fan of 'time-consuming' dating apps.
“I’ve been lucky in my life to have a couple of really amazing connections with people,” he said. “For me, it’s more about someone who has got ambition, their own purpose in life, who’s non-judgmental, someone with good values.”
“The most important thing to me right now is becoming the best tennis player I can be, especially the way the world is at the moment with all that [dating app] stuff. I’d rather meet someone out of genuine, almost coincidence, or when I’m focused on something else.”
The 6ft 4in star has previously been romantically linked with his long-time friend Emma Raducanu, with him and the 2021 US Open champion born less than a year apart. They remain just friends, however, but Draper spoke of the importance of their friendship as he praised Raducanu for her support.
"She has always been there for me. I’ve always been there for her,” he said. “She’s extremely bubbly, very kind, very thoughtful, always giggling, really smart. A really, really, really good girl.”
Draper had previously said that watching his friend triumph in 2021 had "fuelled [his] fire" to lift a Major trophy as well, telling reporters at last year's US Open: "What Emma did was obviously incredibly inspiring. I’ve known her from a young age, and to see what she did was incredible.
“I was very proud of her, very excited. Obviously, we’ve watched the likes of Andy Murray winning a Grand Slam from Great Britain, but her winning, it was just really a fairy-tale run.
“I definitely think as a competitor, it fuelled my fire. I really wanted to achieve what she’d done, winning a Grand Slam," he added. "At the same time I do understand that the men’s and the women’s, it is different. We’re playing five sets. It’s a different physical challenge and all these types of things. [But] I learned a lot from watching Emma win, that run, and how amazing she was.”
