Jack Grealish appeared to hit back at Aston Villa fans by gesturing towards the home crowd after Man City's latest flop.

Pep Guardiola's strugglers slumped to yet another defeat as Jhon Duran and Morgan Rogers fired Unai Emery's men to a 2-1 victory at Villa Park. Phil Foden netted his first Premier League goal of the season in stoppage time, but it was too little too late for the fallen champions.

The result had ramifications for crisis-hit City too as they dropped into sixth place and Villa leapfrogged them into fifth. As for Grealish, it was a particularly miserable day at the office as he was jeered by the fans who once adored him on his return to Villa Park. The £100million man has endured a miserable campaign and, incredibly, has now failed to score a single goal for Man City in 365 days.

Fired-up Grealish didn't come close to ending the awful goal drought against his boyhood club today as he was booed with every touch of the ball. The 29-year-old was also at the centre of a heated argument between both sets of players as they made their way towards the tunnel at half-time.

The England international was spotted protesting at the lack of stoppage time in the first half as City trailed 1-0. Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez then copped a yellow card as he raced towards Grealish to push him away before the City No10 was eventually escorted back to the dressing room by security staff.

Frustrated Grealish played the entire 90 minutes and landed a booking in the closing stages. And as the final whistle sounded, he joined the rest of his teammates by applauding the travelling fans in the away end, even gifting his jersey to a lucky punter. While Villa fans celebrated their victory and taunted an animated Grealish as he trudged off the pitch, Grealish reacted by holding up three fingers in a not-so-subtle reference to the Treble-winner's three Premier League titles.

Reacting on social media, one person wrote: "His head's on mars." Another teased: "HAHAHAHAHAHA... Bro is rattled." While a third taunted: "Sooooo shamelesssss. He hasn’t scored in years."
