Jack Grealish to Manchester United transfer was 'really close' as Man City star makes exit claim
Jack Grealish has previously claimed that he came close to sealing a transfer to Manchester United amid current shock links with a move to Old Trafford.
Grealish has struggled for Pep Guardiola's side this season, starting just 11 of his 20 games across all competitions. The Englishman has scored just once whilst adding a further four assists in his 1036 minutes of action.
The Sun claim that Grealish is considering a fresh start with a move to Europe potentially on the cards. There is also said to be domestic interest with former club Aston Villa, Newcastle, Tottenham and United among those reportedly keeping tabs on his situation.

It is unclear whether the Reds would be able to convince Grealish to move to Old Trafford. But an interview with the forward over three years ago has resurfaced, in which he claims to have been close to joining United before signing his final contract extension at Villa Park in September 2020.
“I was really close to going, but nothing happened in the end,” he told The Telegraph in 2021.
“We played United in a pre-season game on Saturday and I wasn’t supposed to play in a cup game at Burton. But after the United game, I said to Purslow and my agent [David Manasseh], ‘If I’m not leaving, I’ll sign my new contract’.
“I went in with my dog on Tuesday morning, signed the deal, and played later that day. We all agreed on the clause and if any team hit that, it’s a win-win because it means I’ve had an unbelievable season and Villa got £100 million.”
