Jadon Sancho reacts to being named man of the match on Chelsea debut
Jadon Sancho says he has "been working hard for this moment" after being named man of the match on his Chelsea debut.
Sancho arrived at Stamford Bridge late on deadline day, joining on loan from Manchester United with an obligation to make the move permanent for £25million.
After spending the international break getting used to his new surroundings, Sancho came off the bench at half-time at Bournemouth and immediately looked lively.
The winger's energy paid off with four minutes to play as he found Christopher Nkunku on the turn to fire home the only goal - and was named man of the match for his 45-minute display.
"First of all it is amazing to make my debut for Chelsea," he said on Sky Sports. "Just being back playing I'm very grateful. The team played very well and we are happy with the three points.
"I've been working hard for this moment and I'm just happy that I got my chance. I had a great end to last season being in the Champions League final. I'm just happy to make my debut for Chelsea.
"I have to thank all the staff and my team-mates. The first day I came in, they made me feel welcome and I'm so happy to feel this comfortable."
