James Forrest IS Scotland quality as Celtic star told he should be on Euro 2024 plane

Steve Clarke has been urged to recall James Forrest in his Scotland squad for the Euros.

The Celtic winger has played a bit-part in his side's season so far but in recent outings has banged in three strikes in two games including to win all three points at Dundee this afternoon. It put Scots head coach Steve Clarke on notice and Michael Stewart feels the 32-year-old should come into his consideration when looking at his squad for Germany.

The tournament could potentially allow for 26 players in the squad over the traditional 23 and with stars dropping like flies in recent weeks - Scott McTominay, Aaron Hickey, Nathan Patterson, Lewis Ferguson and Kieran Tierney among others - Stewart reckons Forrest is certainly a strong option.

Speaking on Sportscene he said: "It's a no brainer for me. With the problems we are having at right-wing-back at the moment, it is somewhere that James Forrest could cover if he was in the squad. I would 100 per cent have him in the squad. Even if it was a 23-man squad never mind 26".
