Jamie Carragher admits to singing 'catchy' chant about Arsenal star as Kai Havertz lauded
Jamie Carragher has admitted to singing a 'catchy' Arsenal chant that fans created for Kai Havertz. The Gunners will be determined to pick up where they left off at the weekend after a 3-0 win over Bournemouth.
Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice were on the scoresheet as the north Londoners defended their place at the top of the table. Manchester City also claimed another victory, defeating Wolves 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Meanwhile, Liverpool returned to winning ways, picking up a 4-2 win over Tottenham following a defeat and a draw to Everton and West Ham, respectively. The Premier League table remains the same, with the Gunners one point ahead of City, who have a game in hand. Jurgen Klopp's team are third and five points from the summit.
Arsenal have learned from their mistakes last season when they collapsed in the final games and handed City the title. A number of players have had an impact on the Gunners' campaign, with their defence often getting the plaudits, along with Kai Havertz's improved form.
He has scored 12 goals in 35 league games and has prompted fans to create a chant for him: "£60million down the drain, Kai Havertz scores again." And Carragher wasn't shy about admitting he would sing it 'now and again.'

The Liverpool icon told Sky Sports: "I think Arsenal right now defensively are as good as anyone in Europe and the world right now. They have definitely improved in 2024 compared to the first half of the campaign.
"One of the reasons that has helped this is the role of Kai Havertz. He has been mocked a little at the start of the season. You are not quite sure where he fits in. To be honest, I have never been quite sure where his best position is.
"He is a centre-forward and he is helping Arsenal do what they are doing right now which is being so strong defensively and that’s what is giving them a great chance to win the Premier League.
"They have a great song for him, haven’t they Arsenal fans? Love it. It’s a catchy tune. I sing it now and again myself. He is having a real impact on the team and I don’t think anyone envisaged that at the start of the season."
