Jamie Carragher delivers Ibrahima Konate Liverpool red card verdict - 'It's absolutely ridiculous'
Jamie Carragher has been proven right after Arne Slot took Ibrahima Konate off at the break for picking up a yellow card against Wolves in the first half. During the Sky Sports coverage, Carragher pointed out the defender's lack of attention as he picked up his fifth booking of the season after misjudging a header.
Liverpool were leading 2-0 at the break thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah. Diaz made a run past Wolves defender Emmanuel Agbadou before being tripped by goalkeeper Jose Sa in the area for a penalty.
Salah made no mistake from the penalty spot, scoring straight down the middle as Sa dived. Moments before, however, Carragher suggested that Konate's lack of focus led the Frenchman to pick up an unnecessary booking.

"It is a stupid challenge by Konate but it's not a yellow card, just two players going for a header and one gets there before the other," Carragher said on Sky Sports. "I'd be surprised if Konate comes out for the second half."
He also pointed out the same happened at Goodison Park during the 2-2 draw with Everton earlier this week. "It's not a yellow card," Carragher continued.
"He just misjudges the header, daft challenge though it's absolutely ridiculous. He does have those moments Konate, was a little bit like that Wednesday night as well, wasn't switched on for that free-kick for the first goal against Everton."
Should Liverpool overcome Wolves, they will restore their seven point lead at the summit after Arsenal also claimed a 2-0 victory against Leicester City on Saturday.
