Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane are both of the belief that Liverpool will go on and win the Premier League title after beating Manchester City at the Etihad.

The Reds went 11 points clear at the top of the table as goals from Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai saw off the home side. It was a huge week for Arne Slot's side after title rival Arsenal was beaten at home by West Ham on Saturday.

It was a huge statement victory from Liverpool, who now hosts Newcastle in midweek while Arsenal faces another challenging game, this time away at Nottingham Forest.

Speaking on Sky Sports post-match, Liverpool legend Carragher suggested the title race was done and dusted. He said: "I think Liverpool will go on and win the title.

"It is not so much the lead it has over Arsenal. Arsenal is in a situation where it has no attackers and will drop more points. There are statement wins when you win a title. Beating City home and away is as big of a statement as you can have. It is a matter of when not if."

And ex-Manchester United captain Keane was in complete agreement, adding: "No doubt about it. You look through the spine of the team, very strong and there is a lot of pace too. Salah is amazing.

"There is momentum and everyone else is slipping up. Liverpool has seven games left at home and has only lost once all season. It's all over."

Only three times in Premier League history has let such a lead slip at this stage of the season, with the last time coming in 1998. Micah Richards also agreed with his colleagues saying: "I just think this Liverpool team can adapt. Everything about this team is sensational and always finds a way to win.

"I think if Arsenal had a fully fit squad it could maybe challenge. But without a striker, no Saka. It is going to be so hard."

It was another incredible display from Salah as he scored one and set up another. He said after the game: "I wouldn't say it feels close. We need another title for sure. We will give it our best shot and see."
