Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool won't win this season's Champions League -as he made his predictions for the competition. The Reds face Paris Saint-Germain in a tough last-16 tie tonight, with the first leg kicking off in Paris on Wednesday evening (8pm kick-off).

PSG are dominating France's Ligue 1, sitting 16 points clear at the top of the table and remaining unbeaten in 22 matches across all competitions. The champions-elect are just 10 games away from making history as the first team to complete an entire French top-division campaign without a single defeat.

The last defeat for Luis Enrique's side in any competition came at the hands of Bayern Munich in November. However, Arne Slot's side will be confident, having only lost one match in this year's competition so far, a dead-rubber 3-2 defeat for the Reds.

And Carragher has offered his view on how the knockout stages of the Champions League will play out. The pundit believes holders Real Madrid will knock Liverpool out in the semi-finals before beating rivals Barcelona in the final.

"The Arsenal will go through. Real Madrid versus Atletico was a really tough one, but I think Real's experience will get them through," he said on CBS Sports.

"Liverpool versus PSG, another tight one, but the mighty Reds will go through. Club Brugge versus Aston Villa: I'm going to go with Villa to go through there.

"Benfica versus Barcelona, Barcelona will go through. Borussia Dortmund, last year's finalist, against Lille, and I think Dortmund's experience will get them through. Bayer Leverkusen versus Bayern Munich, I'm going for my mate Xabi Alonso to go through, having the edge on Vincent Kompany. I'm going for Inter to go through against Feyenoord. Inter and Barcelona will then go through.

"I'm going with Real Madrid to beat the Arsenal and Liverpool to beat Aston Villa comfortably. Then I'm going for Real Madrid to reach the final and beat my beloved Liverpool, unfortunately.

"On the other side I'm going with Barcelona to beat Inter to set up possibly the dream final. Even though Barcelona have got the better of Real Madrid a lot this season, I'm going to go for winners Real Madrid."
