Jamie Carragher sends 'brilliant' Liverpool star two-word message as major transfer hint dropped
Tyler Morton received a message of support from Jamie Carragher after making his 100th professional appearance as Liverpool beat Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup third round tie at Anfield. Morton, 22, had been on 99 for three-and-a-half weeks after last playing in the League Cup quarter-final victory away at Southampton.
There were doubts about the academy graduate featuring at all after he missed the midweek trip to Tottenham Hotspur with an ankle injury. However, he shook off the knock to start and lasted until the hour mark, when James McConnell came on in his place.
Morton has made just four appearances this season, all in domestic cup competitions. Those outings have been supplemented by a further four playing for the club's under-21s.

However, the latest took him to 13 for the Reds, which saw him bring up a century across his young career. Morton played 41 times across all competitions on loan at Hull City last season, following 46 for Blackburn Rovers the previous campaign.
Aware of the milestone, Morton acknowledged it on Instagram after the match. "100th professional appearance," the caption read, punctuated with a raising hands emoji.
Cody Gakpo, Conor Bradley, Dominic Corness, Jayden Danns, Isaac Mabaya, James Balagizi, Oakley Cannonier, Owen Beck, Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni all added emojis underneath the post, while Harvey Elliott and Lewis Koumas sent words of support.
Carragher also commented, writing: "Brilliant, Tyler." The interaction comes three years after he texted Morton's father after the player started for Jurgen Klopp's side at the San Siro against Milan in the Champions League.
"I texted him (Morton's dad) before the game when I saw the team sheet, 'Delighted for you and the family,' Carragher said on CBS Sports at the time. "My son was at Liverpool - they go in really young now - aged six. I've watched that group of players. So I've seen them come right through the system."
Speaking after the game at Anfield, Morton admitted he could leave Liverpool during the January transfer window. He said: “Definitely, it's been tough for me this season minutes-wise.
“I think I've handled it very well. I've kept my head down, given it everything every day. I think I do deserve a chance. I got the chance today, hopefully people think I took it. I think I had a good game.
“It was exciting, when you don't get many chances, it's rare, you've got to take them and I think I did today. This month is obviously a big month for myself. It's decision time. I think I'm ready to kick on and be a proper professional.
“Definitely, I think I'm ready to kick on now and ready to move up a step. If that's here or if that's somewhere else, football's football. I've got to go and be a bit selfish and go with however I feel.”
