Jamie Carragher sends three-word message to Arne Slot as new Liverpool boss confirmed
Jamie Carragher has sent a message to Arne Slot after the Dutchman was confirmed as Liverpool’s new head coach.
Slot’s appointment was confirmed by the club on Monday, less than 24 hours after Jürgen Klopp’s final game in charge. The 45-year-old will leave Feyenoord after a successful spell with the Eredivisie side, which saw him lead them to a league title last season before adding the KNVB Cup this year.
Slot is set to officially start work at Anfield on June 1. He will have plenty on his hands as the summer transfer window opens, with some big decisions to make on current squad.

The announcement of Slot’s appointment hardly came as a surprise, with the man himself having made no secret of his impending role. He will now be placed in charge of leading Liverpool into a new era, and Klopp will be a tough act to follow.
Fans have been leaving their messages following Liverpool’s announcement, including Carragher. The former defender was at Anfield to see Klopp’s final game in charge, and he had a simple message for the German’s successor.
“Good luck boss!” Carragher replied on X (formerly Twitter). Slot has agreed to a three-year deal at Liverpool, and has spoken about why he took the job.
“It is certainly not an easy decision to close the door behind you at a club where you have experienced so many wonderful moments and worked successfully with so many wonderful people,” he told Feyenoord’s club website.
“But as a sportsman, an opportunity to become a head coach in the Premier League, at one of the biggest clubs in the world, is difficult to ignore. I am grateful to Feyenoord for their willingness to cooperate in this transition.”
Liverpool.com says: A simple show of support from Carragher to the new Liverpool boss. Slot will certainly need some luck on his side as he takes over from Klopp at Anfield.
The German is going to be a very tough act to follow, and even if Slot gets off to a good start, this season has shown just how much luck you also need to compete with Manchester City. There were plenty of decisions that didn’t go the Reds’ way this season, so hopefully Slot can change the club’s luck a bit.
