Jamie Carragher singles out 'fantastic' Liverpool player vs Man Utd after superb performance
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was left very impressed by Alexis Mac Allister at Anfield as the Argentine put in an excellent showing in the middle of the pitch for Arne Slot's side against Manchester United.
Mac Allister, alongside Virgil van Dijk, was the outstanding player for Liverpool on the day. Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah secured a 2-2 draw with Mac Allister setting up the first, which drew his side level at 1-1.
"Liverpool have improved in the last five minutes and a lot of that is down to that man," Carragher said during Sky Sports' coverage of the game. He was speaking about the opening quarter of the game when Mac Allister pulled his side back into the game.

Liverpool recovered from a slow start to take a point with Slot saying he was "relieved" not to lose the match at the end when Harry Maguire blazed a shot over the bar from close range. But while the Reds could have lost it, they could easily have won it too.
"A couple of lovely passes, great run there to get on the end of that beautiful Mo Salah pass," Carragher said later in the commentary. "He’s been fantastic, Mac Allister, so far in the game. Liverpool hadn’t got going in the opening 10 minutes but he’s the one who’s got them going."
Liverpool.com says: Mac Allister was exceptional and he is having a good time of it at the moment. Since he came in from Brighton, he has shown himself to be a brilliant technical player but his brain being a few steps ahead of everyone else at all times is his biggest attribute. He showed that a few times here.
