West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen has made history after becoming the first current Premier League player to star in EastEnders as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.

The striker featured briefly as Teddy Mitchell (played by Roland Manookian) arranged a personal message for lifelong West Ham fan on and off screen Billy Mitchell (played by Perry Fenwick) and his fiance Honey (played by Emma Barton) as they prepare for their wedding. Propped up on a phone in The Queen Vic, the 28-year-old said: "Hey Honey and Billy, it's Jarrod Bowen here, Teddy told us you were about to tie the knot and I wanted to say a massive congratulations and good luck from myself and all of us here at West Ham.

"Enjoy your special day and hopefully we shall see you at the London Stadium soon." A confused Honey then asked Billy who he was to which he replied: "It's Jarrod Bowen," before Alfie Moon (played by Shane Ritchie) declared him a 'football legend.'

According to Salary Sport, Bowen's net worth is thought to be a staggering £29.3m having become an England international in recent years and gained further exposure due to his senior position with the Iron. Capology understands that Bowen is West Ham's top earning player with a salary of £150,000 per week at the Premier League club.

Love life

Bowen has been dating Love Island star Dani Dyer since 2021 and shares two children with the 28-year-old, twins Star and Summer who were born in May 2023. The pair met after they became neighbours with the England forward messaging on her birthday which sparked their romance.

The relationship is set to take the next step soon after Bowen proposed to Dyer in July 2024.

Dyer's true feelings

Of course, Bowen's fiance has a very famous father in the form of EastEnders actor Danny Dyer. The 47-year-old is also a well-known West Ham supporter and has welcomed the striker into the family with open arms.

Speaking on Heart Breakfast in October, Dyer explained that Bowen had rung him up for his daughter's hand in marriage, adding: "You’ve got to remember I’m obsessed with this man. There is nothing he can do wrong in my eyes.

"He scored the winning goal in a European final. You [Dani] really have [done well there], I was due one to be fair."

Speaking about his appearance on EastEnders tonight, Bowen said: "It’s great to be part of the EastEnders 40th anniversary celebrations and appear on the show. EastEnders is loved by so many people and obviously has a strong link to the east London community, so to represent West Ham United in this very special episode is a really nice moment for everyone connected with the club."
