Jeffrey Schlupp to Celtic transfer DONE – now striker search escalates as Brendan Rodgers tries to tool up

Celtic have agreed a loan deal to sign Jeffrey Schlupp from Crystal Palace for the rest of the season.

The 32-year-old is now undergoing his medical ahead of him penning a contract with the Hoops until the summer. Providing there are no late hiccups the deal will go through before the deadline. Celtic have agreed to pay a good chunk of Schlupp’s wages to make the move happen. The former Leicester City player is out-of-contract in the summer but there is no obligation from Celtic beyond the loan. Schlupp would offer Celtic’s versatility anywhere up the left or as a striker.

The ex-Ghana international was keen to move north after finding himself on the fringes at Palace in recent months. Schlupp wants the chance to compete for silverware and a crack a the Champions League, where Celtic take on Bayern Munich. The Hoops are still looking to add a striker this evening.
