Jhon Duran signs, £40m midfield transfer, Jorginho exit - Arsenal January window predicted
There are just over two weeks of the January transfer window remaining and Arsenal are yet to conduct any major business.
That could change over the next fortnight, however, with injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus leaving the Gunners lightweight in the forward department. Mikel Arteta confirmed Arsenal are exploring every option following his side's 2-1 win over Tottenham on Wednesday.
"Yes for sure because we lost two big players - Bukayo could be out for three months and Gabby is going to be out for a long time too," Arteta told TNT Sports when asked if a new signing was possible. "We are going to try for sure. We are actively looking.

"We have lost two very important players, we have 14 players in the squad and we play every three days. So, we will try and let's see what we can get."
The likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko and Martin Zubimendi have been linked with a move to Emirates Stadium this month - but who could actually join the Gunners in January? Data experts at EsportsInsider asked three supercomputers (Chat GPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot) to predict what deals Arsenal need to make by the end of January to win the Premier League title.
According to the supercomputers, Arsenal will look to sign Aston Villa's Jhon Duran, with a £59million deal being struck between the two clubs. Aged just 21, Duran has already proven himself to be a clinical finisher and could solve Arteta's striker issues for years to come.
Jeremie Frimpong also joined from Bayer Leverkusen in the simulation, with Arsenal paying £40.2million for the right midfielder. With nine assists and two goals in 26 appearances for the German giants this season, the 24-year-old could act as cover for Saka given the Englishman's serious hamstring injury.
The third and last player Arsenal signed in January, according to the supercomputers, was Lois Openda for £55million. The RB Leipzig striker has 19 goal contributions in 25 appearances this campaign and, along with Duran, would add serious quality to the Gunners attacking department.
Oleksandr Zinchenko departed in January in the simulation, with the Ukrainian joining Serie A giants Juventus in a £13.4million deal. Jorginho was another who left north London, with the midfielder joining Al Nassr for £11million.
So, in total, Arsenal are predicted to spend around £154million on two strikers and a right midfielder, while they could recoup just over £24million by selling two first team stars. Of course, it remains to be seen if this actually happens, but on paper it seems a very decent window indeed.
