Jonathan Davies has said that England should be worried about travelling to Cardiff next week despite Wales' poor run of form and urged the WRU to step up amid their hunt for a new head coach and director of rugby.

Speaking after the 35-29 loss to Scotland, which means they have gone two years without a win in the Six Nations, the Wales legend said the build-up to next Saturday's game was going to be "incredible".

Describing it as a "huge, huge" time in Welsh rugby, he said that the WRU now had to make some big decisions.

He also praised the Wales players for "hanging on in there" at Murrayfield as they fought right down to the final seconds. Scotland, having looked so comfortable on the hour, suddenly seemed rattled and Wales roared back to within just six points by close of play as Wales scored twice to gain unlikely losing bonus points. Jiffy said: "They hung on in there. They looked out on their feet in the second half. When the game loosened up a bit they came into their own. It is a shame that the (Taulupe) Faletau try was rewarded. It was the right decision, but that would have been a really interesting last couple of minutes.

"You have to say 'well done and great character shown' but Scotland blew us away in the first half. We were nowhere near it."

Sam Warburton also praised the players for their "never-say-die attitude" adding that it was "credit to Wales for hanging in there".

Despite it being Wales' 16th consecutive Test defeat and a 10th-straight loss in the Six Nations, Jiffy says he remains confident about the final game of the 2025 tournament at the Principality Stadium next weekend.

When Gabby Logan asked if Steve Borthwick would be worried after watching the second half, Jiffy said: "I think he should be worried anyway, because it is England, it is Cardiff.

"We haven't won a game for a long, long time and the atmosphere and build up is going to be incredible. England will be firm favourites, but we are where we are but if we could raise the level to that of the Irish performance again, you never know."

He added: "It is tough to take and it is a really big game next week and then we go to Japan and then we have a tough autumn. We have to earn it. There are big decisions to be made, it is a huge, huge time in Welsh rugby and WRU have to step up and make some big decisions.

"It is where we are at unfortunately and it is difficult to win international matches. If you don't perform well, if you don't compete, you don't win matches. The pressure built now for England. Scotland were the better team by far."

He added that Jac Morgan and been "phenomenal" and that it was "great to see Dewi Lake back".

"If you get players off the bench, and we haven't got the strength and depth that other nations have got, so you are worried when the changes are made after 50 minutes but when they came on, they made a big difference that was very satisfying for us. Unfortunately, when you do come on and want to make an impact you don't want to be so far behind."
