Joao Felix is a transfer target for Aston Villa before Monday night's window deadline - although there are set to be negotiations with Chelsea which will be impacted by the club's pursuit of the Portuguese attacker's teammate Axel Disasi.

Villa are desperate for a centre half reinforcement; they've lost Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings to injury - although not serious, it's unclear how much of a setback Mings' injury currently is - and they've also sanctioned the sale of Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce in Turkey.

In all, it has left Ezri Konsa as the club's lone centre back option available to Unai Emery ahead of the welcoming of Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Lucas Digne joining him for the majority of the 1-1 draw with West Ham at the weekend.

Villa, who have already signed Andres Garcia and Donyell Malen in this window, are eager to add at least one centre half with Villarreal's versatile defender Juan Foyth - a player Emery knows well - also a target. Disasi is a player who has reportedly agreed personal terms with Villa ahead of a loan move which isn't likely to have a permanent option.

Felix, who Emery has admired for a long time, is also of interest again, but Premier League rules state that clubs can only loan one player from a top flight rival in the same window - meaning Villa can't loan both players this month. Whether Villa are in a position to pursue a permanent deal remains to be seen.

They have sold Jaden Philogene this month, replacing him with Malen, while Jhon Duran continues to attract plentiful interest from the Premier League and abroad. Emiliano Buendia is also well liked by Bayer Leverkusen and Leeds United.
