Joe Gomez breaks silence as Liverpool star could make injury return vs Tottenham
Joe Gomez has issued a message ahead of a potential return from injury for Liverpool. The Reds centre-back has been on the sidelines with a hamstring injury ever since he was substituted in the first half of the 5-0 win over West Ham on December 29.
Liverpool are preparing to face Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Thursday night. The Reds go into the game trailing 1-0 after losing the first leg last month thanks to a Lucas Bergvall goal.
Gomez has missed Liverpool's last nine matches but has now returned to training after recovering from the injury he suffered at the London Stadium. The defender was not included in the squad that travelled to Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend but could be involved in the clash against Spurs on Thursday evening.

The day before the game, Gomez sent a message on social media for the first time since he suffered the injury. Gomez posted a series of photos on Instagram of himself during a Liverpool training session - the 27-year-old's previous post was on December 27 after the Reds beat Leicester City on Boxing Day.
Teammate Cody Gakpo replied to the post with a love heart emoji. It remains to be seen if Gomez will be handed a start against Tottenham by Arne Slot.
The Liverpool head coach will have to deal with the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is sidelined with a thigh injury he suffered in the weekend's win over Bournemouth. Conor Bradley is expected to start at right-back in place of Alexander-Arnold, who is the only first-team player unavailable through injury.
Gomez is also an option for Slot in Alexander-Arnold's absence, although the defender has predominantly been used as a centre-back this season.
