Johan Lange given further Tottenham transfer instruction after £12.5m Antonin Kinsky deal
Tottenham have made a positive start to the January transfer window after completing the signing of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky. The hope will be that Johan Lange can conclude some more deals for Ange Postecoglou before the transfer deadline on Monday, February 3.
Always a tough window to finalise transfers, it is a very important few weeks for the north London club as they look to bolster their squad after some rotten luck on the injury front over the past two months. Kinsky adds to the options in goal for Postecoglou and there is the possibility that he makes his debut in Wednesday evening's Carabao Cup semi-final clash against Liverpool.
As crucial as it was for Tottenham to bring in a goalkeeper who can really challenge Guglielmo Vicario for the No.1 shirt over the coming years, there are a number of other positions that Spurs must prioritise over the coming weeks. Centre-back is most certainly one of the areas as the club have had to do without first-choice pairing Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven as well as the experienced Ben Davies.

Tottenham could also do with adding to their options at left-back as Destiny Udogie is expected to be sidelined for six weeks with a hamstring injury. Further forward, reinforcements are required in attack to ensure the team have sufficient options as they look to challenge on four fronts in what remains of the season.
So what exactly do Tottenham need to do before the transfer deadline? football.london asked Spurs supporters to give their thoughts on the transfer window and the results are rather telling.
In terms of the position Spurs need to strengthen most, the results were overwhelming as 51 per cent of those who voted stated that centre-back is the priority position for Tottenham. A new full-back was next in the results on 14 per cent, with a central midfielder not too far behind on 11 per cent.
It was then extremely close in the rest of the vote as nine per cent voted goalkeeper, eight per cent opted for striker and seven per cent went with a new winger. In regards to how many signings Tottenham need to make in the January transfer window, two to three new additions was the preferred choice with 46 per cent of votes.
However, 38 per cent of Spurs fans believe that more needs to be done in the winter market as they opted for either four or five signings. Fourteen per cent of voters believe that six or more signings are required for the club in the transfer market.
One per cent of fans voted for only one signing in the window and the remaining one per cent said that Tottenham didn't need to make any signings at all. Spurs fans have spoken and now it is up to Lange to give Postecoglou exactly what he wants before the window slams shut at the beginning of February.
