Blackburn Rovers boss John Eustace has confirmed Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford is on their "long list" of transfer targets. The Whites' Championship rivals are in the market for attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes on February 3.

A new left-sided player and number nine are thought to at the top of Eustace's agenda as they look to keep pace with the play-off pack. Rovers were linked over the weekend with moves for Bamford and experienced West Bromwich Albion wide man Jed Wallace.

"Patrick is a very good player, I played with him at Derby, a long time ago when he started out," Eustace told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"He's a consistent performer at this level, he plays for a huge club in Leeds. But there will be lots of names thrown towards me and I'll just say they're good players.

"You'd have to ask the club. He's a player on a long list that we have looked at and we'll have to see. Jed is another good Championship player. West Brom have a lot of good Championship players and these players all fit that description."

Injury problems have plagued Bamford throughout the 2024/25 season. All 10 of his league appearances have come from off the bench. His only start came in their Carabao Cup defeat to Middlesbrough back in August. Nine months have elapsed since Bamford scored a goal.

Bamford suffered a hamstring injury in the draw with Rovers on New Year's Day. He is not expected to return to action until the end of the month.
