Jonathan David has previously made a surprise admission that he didn't like Liverpool as he prepares to face the Reds for Lille. The French club are looking to extend their unbeaten run to 22 matches and inflict a first defeat in the new-look Champions League for Arne Slot's side.

David has been one of the stars of Bruno Genesio's side and was the match-winner in their triumph over Real Madrid earlier in the campaign. The 25-year-old scored from the spot during the early stages of the league phase to pile on the misery for Carlo Ancelotti.

"I like teams. I'm just not a big fan of Liverpool."

David added: "I don’t know. I don’t really like them. No [it isn't because of Jurgen Klopp], because I think he is world class. The Liverpool team with Gerrard, Sterling, Sturridge, Suárez... I liked them. But now..."
