MORTON attacker Jordan Davies says his side is more than ready to face a resurgent Airdrieonians as they prepare for the first of three Cappielow games in six days.

The versatile Ton forward admits it's been tough to sit on the side lines for much of the new year, with multiple postponements and free weekends leaving the Greenock men idle.

He told the Tele: "We're desperate to get back to playing consistently, especially in the hope of keeping our good form going for as long as possible.

"I think that's nine unbeaten in the league now, but when it's stop start it can be tough because you just want to keep it going.

"But we'll be ready for the Airdrieonians game this weekend, we'll have had a full week's worth of training and be more than prepared for it.

"We just need to try our best to curb that frustration of not playing, through no fault of our own, and channel that into performances when we we do have our games.

"We've got a hectic run coming up now, of five games in 14 days, which is just how it is and we need to be ready for it.

"We've still been in training every day, we've been keeping sharp so we're looking forward to the games we've got coming ahead.

"Personally, I can't wait for this run of fixtures, I just want to play as many games as possible.

"But we've got a good squad there, with rotation available if we need it so it'll be alright."

He revealed his Diamonds strike did lift a weight off his shoulders given the expectations that were placed upon him when he first arrived in Scotland back in July.

He added: "You're always confident in coming up against a team that you scored your first goal against, but I'm just confident in the way I'm playing at the minute.

"That's nine games on the bounce that I've started now - so I'm just taking it a game at a time and with the same approach. It doesn't matter who I'm up against.

"The goal itself lifted a massive weight off my shoulders, there was big expectations in me coming up here to Morton.

"I'd scored a lot of goals last year for Connah's Quay so naturally it's been expected that I'd do the same up here.

"It's taken me time to adapt, I'll not shy away from that because it has, moving my whole life up here.

"But the gaffer believes in me and I want to repay him for that."
