Jordan Henderson: "We can still improve"
Fresh after going a calendar year unbeaten in the Premier League, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson fired a waring to his team’s rivals – “we can improve”.
The Reds beat Sheffield United 2-0 thanks to goals from Mo Salah and Sadio Mane to restore their 14-point cushion at the top of the table and look on course for an historic season.
Speaking to BT Sport immediately after the final whistle, the Liverpool skipper said: “The performance level has been really high for a long period of time. We want to continue that, keep doing the things we are doing, keep improving and keep concentrating on the next challenge.

"I still think we can improve. The last 10 or 15 minutes they had a good chance. We can't afford to give teams those chances. Overall the intensity was really good. We have coped well and need to improve for the derby on Sunday."
Quizzed on whether the side are eying up Arsenal’s Invincible season, or their record of 49 games unbeaten, Henderson replied: “Not really. I am not really bothered about that. I am bothered about next game and next challenge and see where that takes us come May."
Likewise, Henderson’s boss kept his feet on the ground. Talking to Match of the Day, the Liverpool coach said: "It's obviously good [to go unbeaten for a year] but the target tonight was not to extend this, but to win the game. The best thing you can say when you play against Sheffield United is to keep the game not spectacular. We controlled the game.”
"I am really happy and really proud of the boys. We should not take things like this for granted. The way we controlled Sheffield United tonight was exceptional. In possession we were incredible, we were calm but lively as well. The goals we scored were exceptional."
