Arsenal are working behind the scenes to, potentially, land replacements for Jorginho and Thomas Partey - who both continue to be linked with an exit this month.

Club scouts were, reportedly, in attendance in Porto to watch Olympiacos wonderkid Christos Mouzakitis on Thursday night. The 18-year-old was in action for the Greek side in their 1-0 win over FC Porto.

Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the youngster as they look to add more youth and talent to Mikel Arteta's squad. Mouzakitis is a highly-rated midfielder - and he has been given the opportunity to shine within the Olympiacos first-team this season.

He has played 22 matches across all competitions this season - and has started in six of their seven Europa League fixtures in the new format. According to Portuguese newspaper Record, Arsenal had representatives in attendance at Estadio do Dragao with Mouzakitis featuring the entire game along with Charalampos Kostoulas, another highly-rated youngster Arsenal have on their radar.

Kostoulas has enjoyed an excellent debut season with the Olympiacos senior set-up - having scored five times and providing one assist in 26 appearances this term. In addition to Arsenal, Marseille, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen, six other Premier League sides are said to have been in attendance.

However, there was no mention of who the other clubs may have been there to scout.

A report by Tutto Juve last month reported Arsenal were keen to 'get ahead of everyone' to sign the Olympiacos duo with Juventus also tipped to make a move this winter. Both players are said to be valued at €3million (£2.5m) with their contracts running out in the summer of 2026.

Olympiacos may be forced to cash-in this summer at the latest to ensure they can get receive the asking price.

Jorginho has been tipped to return to his native Brazil this month - as he is coming to the end of his contract in the summer. Reports suggest he has already turned down a move to Flamengo but has left the door open over a move.

"No, it's a possibility, yes, in the future, it's a possibility," he said on a move to Brazil.

"So this door is also open, obviously. Keep all the doors open and calmly decide what to do in the future."

Partey is, meanwhile, also out of contract at the end of the season and he's been subject of interest from Catalan giants Barcelona.
