Jose Mourinho has Nottingham Forest transfer on January 'agenda' as talks take place
Nottingham Forest defender David Carmo is reportedly a transfer target for Fenerbahce this month.
The 25-year-old signed for the Reds from Porto for a reported £10 million last summer and penned a five-year deal. He immediately headed out on loan to fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned side Olympiacos, where he is due to spend the rest of the season.
According to reports in the Turkish media, a centre-back is on the January transfer window shopping list of Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho. Carmo is said to be one of the players on the club’s radar.
A Spor report Fenerbahce have put securing the signature of the Forest-owned man on their “agenda”. Talks are said to have already taken place with Olympiacos over a potential move.
Carmo has made 14 league appearances for the Greek outfit so far this season. He had a previous loan spell with Olympiacos, from Porto, before his permanent switch to the City Ground.
Central defence is an area where Reds head coach Nuno Espirito Santo currently has a number of options. Murillo and summer signing Nikola Milenkovic are currently the first-choice pairing, while Morato is frequently trusted to come off the bench and help see games out.
Willy Boly and Andrew Omobamidele are also on the books but both find themselves down the pecking order at present. The latter is on the radar of Leeds United and Sheffield United as the Championship sides plot their January business.
