Jurassic tennis competition set for eighth year
DEFENDING champion Kaiese Brown will be looking to retain his title when an annual tennis competition gets underway
The Jurassic Tennis Singles Ladder is now in its eighth year and matches will begin on April 1 and run through to early September.
The ladder is organised by Weymouth Lawn Tennis Club coach, Clive Stow, who is keen to get people of all levels of tennis ability competing, so that they can improve their game.
Last year saw over 70 players involved and over 350 matches were played with the final contested at the Wey Valley Tennis Centre between Clif Moreton and Brown - with the latter winning in straight sets to retain his 2023 title.
The tournament is not associated with the LTA and players can be of any ability and must complete 12 matches in order to qualify for the final stages.
The rules have been changed to give wider scope for challenges and organisers are hopeful that this will lead to closer matches.
The entry fee is £10.
