Stefan Bajcetic decision
In recent days reports elsewhere have suggested Stefan Bajcetic's position on loan at Austrian outfit RB Salzburg may change this month.
The young Spaniard joined the side shortly after Pep Lijnders stepped into the manager position once he vacated Liverpool's assistant manager spot. However, the suggestion has now been that he is unhappy and wants the loan cut short.
Salzburg had been on a winter break since December 14. That was until Monday evening when they hosted German giants Bayern Munich in a friendly.
New coach Thomas Letsch decided to put Bajcetic on the bench to start, but brought the midfielder on as part of 10 half-time changes. The Red Bulls would go on to concede three second-half goals in a 6-0 defeat.
Amid uncertainty over his future, at least the player is still getting minutes on-field. The Daily Mail have most recently claimed Liverpool wish to keep the loan active until the season's end, as was originally planned.
Jurgen Klopp absent for friendly
As Jurgen Klopp started his tenure as Red Bull's head of global soccer on January 1, there was an expectation he would make an appearance at Monday's friendly between Salzburg and Bayern.
However, the 57-year-old is still yet to make a public appearance as part of his first job after leaving Liverpool in 2024.
According to German publication BILD, Klopp opted to stay away from the Red Bull Arena on this occasion because he did not want to 'attract media attention' or 'distract attention from the sporting aspect'.
It was reported in December that the first match he will actually attend is Paris FC's Ligue 2 meeting with Amiens SC at Stade Charlety on Saturday, January 11.
