Jurgen Klopp delivers exciting update on forgotten Liverpool man's injury recovery

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic is set to return to first-team training next week.

The 19-year-old academy product has not featured in the Premier League campaign and has only made two senior appearances this season due to a complex injury situation, triggered by growing pains.

“We forgot Stefan Bajcetic,” Klopp said. “Yes he didn't play for a long time but he trains fully with the Under-21s this week.

“That means we will take him in [senior] training next week and then we will see. So another one coming, that's super important"

Liverpool have suffered a number of injuries as they look to secure the title in Klopp’s final season in charge. They currently lead the table after Manchester City and Arsenal’s stalemate.

Andy Robertson will miss out as the Reds host Sheffield United on Thursday, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip are among those out.

Out of contract this summer, Matip is likely to have played his last game under the German boss.

“Running, he hates that but he's able to run again. Since he got injured this is the best moment, it was very painful but now it's pain free and it all takes time,” Klopp commented.

“I don't think the season is long enough for him."
