Jurgen Klopp issues clear Benjamin Sesko verdict as Arsenal striker transfer 'meeting' scheduled
Red Bull chief and former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has delivered a clear verdict on RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko amid transfer links to Arsenal. The Gunners looked set to sign the striker last summer but he instead opted to sign a new contract in Germany.
Since making that big decision, with reports claiming it was made considering the best place for his development, the 21-year-old struggled at Euro 2024 with Slovenia. The domestic goals however, have not dried up as Sesko hit his twelfth of the season with a thunderbolt in the 4-2 victory against Werder Bremen this past weekend.
Transfer links between Arsenal and Sesko have somewhat dried up in recent months with the focus instead seemingly on Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak. Despite that, there is still an admiration of the young forward from Emirates Stadium with Klopp also seemingly a huge fan.

The 57-year-old, who left Liverpool in the summer, was confirmed as Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer last year with his tenure officially beginning on January 1, 2025. A press conference unveiling Klopp has since been held with Sesko one of the topics discussed.
"My plans for him to score more goals like this for us," he said. "I've know him for a while, I knew him at Salzburg, I was thinking where did they get this player. I have no plans for him, don't get it wrong, I will not show up at training and tell him what to do.
"I don't have to tell Marco Rose what he will do, he wants to help him score as much as somehow possible. He has space for improvement, he will say the same, an incredible skillset and potential. Happy to have him.”
Due to the number of injuries Mikel Arteta is facing, with Gabriel Jesus now unavailable, Arsenal appear to be actively in the market for an attacking signing. As evidenced by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's move to Paris Saint-Germain, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Randal Kolo Muani available, there are clear opportunities on the market.
Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is one player that has been of interest to Arsenal for some time with journalist Rudy Galetti claiming the Gunners are ready to take further steps for the Serbia international with a new meeting expected to be held this weekend.
Arteta and Co. have quite clearly been working quietly behind the scenes with a deal for Martin Zubimendi to join in the summer from Real Sociedad on the verge of being agreed.
