Jurgen Klopp speaks out on Mohamed Salah Liverpool row and how it was resolved

Jurgen Klopp has again played down his public altercation with Mohamed Salah during last weekend's draw with West Ham United.

The pair clashed on the sidelines ahead of the Egyptian being introduced as a substitute for Liverpool, with the 31-year-old seemingly unimpressed at only being introduced late on. Exchanging angry words, Darwin Nunez subsequently played the role of peace-maker as he led Salah away.

Klopp would play down the incident after the final whistle, revealing he had spoken to Salah in the dressing room and considered the situation resolved.

However, Salah made further headlines when walking through the mixed zone at the London Stadium, declining an interview request from reporters as he instead declared 'there will be fire' if he spoke.

Both Klopp and Salah were in good spirits when pictured in training on Thursday, while reports earlier this week dismissed the suggestion that the forward could leave Anfiield this summer off the back of the disagreement.

And facing the media for the first time since the Egyptian's mixed zone response, the German again played down the falling out ahead of Liverpool's home clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

"It's completely resolved. It's no problem," he said. "If we wouldn't know each other for that long, I'm not sure how we would deal with it. But we know each other for that long and respect each other too much so it's really no problem.

"I think we have the right to deal with these kind of things completely independent of any expectations from the outside. We are absolutely fine with it. That's a non-story.

"But in general, the best situation would be everybody is in the best possible place. We win the games, we score loads of goals.

"Yes, then the situation would have probably not been exactly like that because Mo would not have been on the bench in the first place. It all depends on each other."
