RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko has returned to the headlines after a net-bursting strike during their 4-2 win over Werder Bremen. Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was in attendance as the talented Slovenian fired a goal of the season contender for Die Roten Bullen.

The ever-popular German is in the infancy of his new ambassadorial role in Leipzig as he helps offer guidance to those overseeing Red Bull's football projects from Leipzig to Salzburg to New York. Klopp will be at the forefront with some of the hottest properties in Europe and, with Sesko, it is no different.

The 21-year-old signed a new deal in Leipzig last summer after becoming a target of Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea. Last February, it was reported by German news outlet BILD that Liverpool were among the clubs looking at the powerful forward, while AC Milan, Manchester City and Barcelona were monitoring the international.

During an interview with Nogomania last summer, Sesko revealed why he stay to remain in Germany. He said: "I thought it through very well. I believe I made the right decision.

"I wanted to gain more experience, learn more, and not rush things. Leipzig is an excellent club that can provide what I need for the next step.

"Leipzig's vision is clear; everything is geared towards growth, progress and high goals. I felt it was right to decide this way."

With the new hierarchy in place, it will now mean that any dealings with Leipzig could see Klopp stand in the way of any potential business. Despite that superb strike from Sesko, it was Xavi Simons who made the headlines after returning to the squad for the first time since being forced off against Liverpool in October.

The 21-year-old scored twice to help Marco Rose's team into the Champions League places. Rose is due to meet KIopp for the first time since he was appointed the Head of Global Soccer of the Red Bull and, speaking after the match, David Raum said: "I'm happy that he's [Klopp] here.

"We'll see what his influence is."

Sporting director Marcel Schafer added: "I stick to it, he's an absolute king of transfers. We are all really looking forward to Jurgen Klopp here in Leipzig, because he will really help us and everyone else with his expertise, his experience and his great passion for football."
