Katic path clear, Dessers exit rules 'set' and £5m Besiktas plot goes beyond Lawrence – Rangers transfer bulletin
Business is ramping up for Rangers after Philippe Clement secured his first signing of the January window.
Portuguese defender Rafael Fernandes has arrived at Ibrox on loan – with the the Light Blues holding an option to buy the prospect at the end of the campaign. But with the club in the midst of a defensive injury crisis Rangers may not be done in the market just yet. Going into Sunday's Scottish Cup clash with Fraserburgh, Leon Balogun is the only fit senior centre-back on the books with John Souttar, Dujon Sterling, Neraysho Kasanwirjo already sidelined.
Clinton Nsiala and Leon King have been promoted from the B team in recent weeks - but more cover could be on the cards with former Gers defender Nikola Katic touted with a return. Record Sport previously revealed that the Bosnian is ready to leave FC Zurich and was keen on a return to Glasgow.

Zurich sporting director Milos Malenovic admitted the path was clear for the 28-year-old to make his dream move, telling Bluewin: "It is basically true that we have a few players who pushed for a transfer in the summer. And who would now like to make the move in the winter.
"I think that is completely understandable. It is true that we are not the final destination for many players in Switzerland. I think that is also logical. We promised him (Katic) in the summer that he would have a chance of moving in the winter rather than in the summer."
In terms of outgoings, Cyriel Dessers' future at Rangers remains uncertain with with Leganes, Saint-Etienne, Cagliari and Empoli all keen on the frontman. The striker has been on the fringes of the squad since Hamza Igamane's breakthrough.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Cagliari have made their move - but only want to loan in Dessers until the end of the season. However, it is claimed the Premiership side will only allow him to leave this month on a permanent basis and are "waiting for the right offer" amid interest from across Europe.
Tom Lawrence has been linked with a move to Besiktas as he nears the end of his contract - and he's not the only Ibrox star to be linked with a move to the club. Ajanspor report that they "haven't given up" on landing Ridvan Yilmaz.
It is claimed that Rangers are holding out for at least £5m for the left-back. Besiktas are said to be "working on a deal" to bring the Turkish international back to the club.
