Kendal Town Ladies forward breaks goal-scoring record
Aimee Garnett has smashed a goal-scoring record for Kendal Town Ladies.
The forward netted her 25th goal in just 13 games during their recent 5-4 victory against Morecambe Ladies Reserves.
This achievement makes her the highest single-season goal scorer in the club's history.
Since joining the team from Milnthorpe three seasons ago, Garnett has scored in every campaign, amassing an impressive total of 58 goals in 47 appearances.
Her consistent scoring, coupled with her relentless work rate and power, has made her a constant threat to opposing defences.
Her goals range from long-range strikes to tap-ins, showcasing her versatility as a forward.
Garnett, who is now preparing for the Lancashire Women's County League cup, said: "Like all forwards, you need good service, and I am blessed to have had that with a wonderful team while having great help from both Chris and Seth.
"However, the opportunity to play at Kendal Town, who have great facilities and a wonderful playing surface, helps us all improve our game."
Chris Miller, Kendal Town Ladies manager, also praised Garnett for her many attributes.
He said: "Aimee has always had an eye for goal ever since her days playing for the Under 11's at Milnthorpe, and like most left-footed players, she strikes the ball really well.
"Having a goal scorer like Aimee means you are never out of a game and you are always capable of scoring a goal.
"She has had a quiet two games by her own high standards, however, despite that, she still managed to score five."
Garnett will be hoping to continue her impressive form in the upcoming Lancashire Women's County League cup.
