Kevin Nancekivell backs 'exciting' Plymouth Argyle appointment of Miron Muslic
Kevin Nancekivell is looking forward to working with new Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic and ready to offer all the help and support he can to the 42-year-old Austrian.
The long-serving first team coach took temporary charge of Argyle for three games, along with injured club captain Joe Edwards, culminating in the shock 1-0 Emirates FA Cup third round win away to Premier League club Brentford on Saturday.
Muslic was sat in the directors' box at the Gtech Community Stadium after being appointed by Argyle on a three-and-a-year contract the previous night and he left Nancekivell and Edwards to concentrate on the cup tie from the away technical area and dug-out.

Nancekivell said: "He rang (on Friday night) which was great, so I had a brief conversation with him on the phone. He just introduced himself and then he very respectfully said 'I will let you get on with the game and wished me good luck'.
"I'm looking forward to working with him. He's the football club's first foreign manager and it's an exciting appointment so it's looking good for the future."
Argyle's headline-making victory over Brentford came courtesy of a terrific 82nd minute goal from Morgan Whittaker and Muslic now faces the prospect of leading the Pilgrims into a FA Cup fourth round clash against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Home Park next month.
Nancekivell added: "If he had wanted to come down and sit next to me and take over for the last 10 minutes he would have been welcome! No, he left it to us. It has definitely given him a base to work on anyway.
"He has a great pedigree. He has taken Cercle Brugge into Europe. He's young, he wants to be on the front foot. I think everyone is excited to see what he can do, and help and support him.
"He's joining a fabulous football club which is very easy to come into. We are a welcoming football club so it will be great to get to work with him."
Nancekivell will be part of Muslic's backroom staff and he said: "It's just a privilege to be asked to stay on again. Hopefully I can provide a bit of continuity, and a link between the academy and the first team. I will do whatever anybody asks me for the football club."
Muslic got the chance to watch club record signing Michael Baidoo make his debut for Argyle against Brentford after his transfer from Swedish side Elfsborg at the start of the month.
Nancekivell said about Baidoo: "He played in a position that is probably secondary to him. He's more of an eight or a 10 but we asked him to go up front and do a job for us, and I thought he was excellent.
"He gave us everything we asked from him. It's minutes in the bank for him and the fans have got to see him in a green shirt. That's a huge positive for us.
"He's a long term signing for us so he's one for the future and it will take him a little time to get up to speed and get used to the rigours of Championship football but I have seen enough in training, and seen enough (against Brentford) that tells me he's going to be fine. I'm delighted to have him on board. He's a great signing for the football club."
Caleb Roberts, 19, made just his third Argyle start (not counting EFL Trophy ties) against Brentford alongside another academy graduate, Adam Randell, and after a slightly shaky beginning he went on to put in a good performance as he played the whole of the cup clash.
Nancekivell said: "To start with the game was really fast, you are playing against a Premier League team, but he grew into it. Caleb has a bright future ahead of him. He likes his tackles, he's good on the ball, and he didn't look out of place at all."
