Title-chasing Burnley will be hoping to welcome two key players back from injury for their forthcoming Championship clash with Hull City.

Influential midfielder Josh Brownhill and forward Luca Koleosho were not involved in the Clarets' FA Cup fourth round tie at Southampton. The duo have sat-out the past three fixtures due to knocks.

Head coach Scott Parker said Brownhill and Koleosho are "progressing" from their injuries ahead of the long trip to Southampton. Enock Agyei is also edging closer to a first team return, having got 45 minutes under his belt for the Under-21s last week. “I’m pleased that Enock got that time,” Parker said. “Injury-wise, everyone else is just pushing on really.

“It's always the way you come back from injury. I think there's an element where players are “fit” because they're on the grass and they're training, but match fitness and the amount of work that maybe needs to go into them is probably still a little bit more."

Winger Mike Tresor faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an unspecified injury. His only appearance came in their FA Cup tie with Reading last month. "We probably won't see Mikey for a little while now," conceded Parker.

Burnley have the best defensive record in the country, conceding just nine goals in 31 matches. Goalkeeper James Trafford was named the Championship player of the month for January after recording six clean sheets and saving two Wilson Isidor penalties in the dying minutes to earn them a point against promotion rivals Sunderland.

Sky Sports' EFL pundit Don Goodman said: "On individual performance, it would be difficult to have a more perfect month than James Trafford. Burnley's defensive stability is going to be the key in their bid for promotion, and Trafford is central to that."
