The key figure in Antonin Kinsky Liverpool masterclass as Tottenham signing makes training claim
Antonin Kinsky has hailed Tottenham goalkeeper coach Rob Burch for his role in preparing him for Wednesday evening's Carabao Cup tie against Liverpool. Ange Postecoglou's side won the first leg 1-0 courtesy of Lucas Bergvall's late strike, with January signing Kinsky a huge figure at the back three days on from his £12.5million transfer from Slavia Prague.
Showcasing his ability with the ball and his range of passing throughout, the Czech star produced a couple of key saves from Darwin Nunez in the closing stages to ensure Tottenham take a 1-0 lead to Anfield for next month's second leg. Some head coaches may have had reservations about throwing a new signing straight into the team but Postecoglou believed that the youngster was ready to take on the Premier League's best.
Speaking on The Review Show after the game, Kinsky hailed his Spurs teammates for helping him in the game and also Burch for his work leading up to the semi-final encounter.

"To be honest I like to play a lot, I would say with confidence but I don't like to risk because I still think there is a difference between playing smart, playing with confidence and playing with risk," he said. "I arrived three days ago. I had two trainings, one full with the team and one with the goalkeeper coach, so I was slowly getting to know the pace.
"First half I would say was so-so but in the second half I felt confident and this is the way I want to play later on. I have to say the boys helped me a lot during the game because they wanted to play, they were confident as well.
"I also have to mention the coaches, all the staff, especially the goalkeeper coach who spoke to me a lot, who gave me the vision how the games look like, how the Premier League and now Carabao looks like, so it helped me a lot that I had this info and I could work with it."
Very much a dream debut for the player as he kept Liverpool at bay to record a clean sheet, Kinsky is not getting carried away and revealed that his immediate plans are to once again work hard in training and be ready for the next time he is selected.
"Yeah definitely I have the plans, I have the goals but to be honest I have four days behind me, 90 minutes and, as I said before, still legs on the ground and I will not say I want to win this or want to win this," he admitted. "Tomorrow morning I'm going back to training again and going to work hard and prepare for the next game and hopefully when the coaches choose to pick me to play I will be ready and I will try to do the same like I did today and like I try to do all the time, so performance as well as possible."
