Khvicha Kvaratskhelia transfer update as Liverpool 'consider' January signing
Liverpool could be set for a busy January transfer window based on some of the latest rumours. The Reds have until February 3 to complete their transfer business, should they wish to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
Arne Slot's side are currently top of the Premier League table as well as the Champions League standings. It remains to be seen if Liverpool will look to go into the transfer market before the window closes in an effort to add new faces to the squad to help their title challenge.
The last few weeks have seen Liverpool linked with a host of potential new signings. Whether there is any truth behind any of the latest reports is unclear, with more than three weeks to go before the transfer window closes.

With that in mind, the ECHO takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours that have been doing the rounds over the last 24 hours.
Liverpool have been handed a blow in their reported hopes of signing Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Reports on Thursday emerged claiming that the Reds have an interest in the Georgia international.
According to The Mirror, though, Paris Saint-Germain are the frontrunners to sign Kvaratskhelia before the transfer window closes. The report claims that the Ligue 1 club have already made progress in their efforts to sign Kvaratskhelia and beat Liverpool to his signature.
Kvaratskhelia is reported to be valued at around £70million by Napoli, and has five goals to his name so far this season under new manager Antonio Conte. What may give Liverpool encouragement is that PSG are yet to offer a fee close to that figure, and are instead contemplating part-exchange deals with Napoli.
Elsewhere, Liverpool reportedly have an interest in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich. According to Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk, the Reds are in the race to sign the Germany international this year.
Kimmich's contract at Bayern is set to expire at the end of the season. The report claims that Liverpool could make a move to sign Kimmich as a free agent should he leave Bayern this summer. It has been stated that the 29-year-old remains in talks over a new contract with the Bundesliga giants, but is yet to reach an agreement.
The Germany international is now able to speak to clubs outside Germany about agreeing a pre-contract deal. This means that Kimmich could open negotiations with Liverpool about a move to Anfield this summer, should he wish to do so.
