Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to undergo Chelsea medical today after £30m fee agreed with Leicester
Chelsea are closing in on a £30million deal to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester.
The midfielder is due to undergo a medical on Sunday and is set to sign a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Dewsbury-Hall will link up with former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca, who has raided his old club for the 25-year-old.
Teenage Chelsea midfielder Michael Golding will reportedly head to Leicester in a separate deal.
Chelsea have snatched Dewsbury-Hall from under the noses of Brighton, after he had completed a medical at Brighton this week following the Seagulls agreeing a fee with Leicester.
Left-footed Dewsbury-Hall is viewed by Chelsea as a player who will fit perfectly into Maresca’s system.
He started 41 games under Maresca in the Championship last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists as they secured promotion back to the Premier League.
Leicester are reportedly under pressure to raise around £40m before the June 30 deadline, as they battle to stay in line with Premier League spending rules.
June 30 marks the end of the financial year so deals need to be finalised on Sunday for clubs to register them in their 2023-24 accounts.
Chelsea have also agreed a deal in principle to sign forward Marc Guiu from Barcelona, while they are closing in on the signing of defender Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors.
